The Somerset County Joint Insurance Fund (SCJIF) was established in 1994. The SCJIF was organized under New Jersey law and is regulated and monitored by the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance and the Department of Community Affairs. The SCJIF provides members with a method of securing insurance and managing risk as an alternative to the standard insurance market. In short, by pooling resources, a group can increase their purchasing power and create a self-directed stable marketplace with a variety of ancillary benefits.
Coverage is provided for lines of insurance, either directly or through outside commercial insurers and/or reinsurers, which include:
